Echizen Washi

Another speech offer on January 5th 2014 in the afternoon, in front of the people who belong to a big union for a calligrapher..... I said NO at first, because I don't think I could be fit in to their traditional ideas, lots of rules, calling each other ` master `......... wooo I hate that..... 

But after stages of talks I felt maybe it could be good that a person like me join the group only on that day. 

It seems that the calligraphers in Fukui are all interested in using Echizen Washi, but they hardly get its information to use papers from China. So I started gathering Echizen Washi made for calligrapher, and I was surprised ! I didn't know there would be so many kinds only from this village; fourteen different kinds only for ink work ! all made in Echizen.

So I'm going to cut them into pieces to make a sample book for the participants. 

People often tell me I have too many talents to concentrate on art. Then I say back to them, ` I don't call them talents. That's  my job God wants me to do. `
