About Narutoshi HOKI2013.12.20
He lived in Mino, Gifu, as a paper artisan. I met him long long time ago, maybe in 2003 when I was at a loss not knowing which direction to go in my paper path.
I don't remember what we talked about at a cafe when I visited Mino looking for some clue for my future. Since then we've been exchanging greeting cards for years. I always looked forward to his paper sent every year. What you see now on the photo is the one sent three or four years ago.
He had a great passion on papermaking choosing good materials planted by his father at that time. I always compare myself with him; me always flying around to meet people and talk about paper but not making serious paper, which is actually a boring job to me ( but this doesn't mean I don't admire those papers) , but he continued seeking for good paper. good and fine paper..... everyone admires. I've also seen his paper work at the Meason et Objets in Paris in the past.
He passed away on December 3rd for his age 46. Then I was left. .........
