Echizen Washi

It's a really sad story and it's not solved yet at all. Also few people in abroad know this incident.

The girl's parents have been here in the village too to make a speech about their abducted daughter, Megumi. My tears always come out every time I hear their story. 

She was only thirteen years old when she was abducted by North Korea in 1977. At that time we all were not sure if it was abduction or just kidnapping or just missing case. But my mother often told me to be careful if I had to go to Japan Sea. She said I should really be careful about strangers or I shouldn't go to the sea by myself because my mother believed in abduction whereas some governers were denying the case.

Megumi's parents are getting old now and I really hope they can meet her again before they die. There are many other abductees in Japan and some parents passed away without seeing their sons or daughters again during their life time.
