I stopped working all day every day for a paper studio here in Echizen Washi in September 2003. Then I started doing what I wanted to do in the village.

One of the things I tried was lacquerware. The industrial area is very close from here. Its origin is the same with ours, Korean or Chinese artisans came here by ship 1500 years ago and they made our villages.

This is beautiful tray made from natural lacquer and I made the picture scattering powders and adding lacquer; the Okamoto Otaki Shrine and a paper woman !
