Echizen Washi

One of my students gave me her handmade one on Feb 14th when she had an English lesson with me.

Children in the village or in Fukui exchange chocolates among friends on the day, but they are not allowed to bring them to school, so they visit each other after school to give Valentine's presents, according to my students' stories. Very Japanese.....

I noticed Japanese people often give things or presents to their friends or neighbors. At first I didn't realize it, but after having talked with my foreign friends, I started realizing that might be one of our unique habits. ...Maybe Asians' ? I'm not sure for that, though.
