Mr.Horie learned how to make handmade senbei in Kyoto before he started his shop in 1960.
I was so much attracted to watch how they make senbei. He said his shop must be the only one senbei shop for handmade in Fukui prefecture. Even in Kyoto this kind of shops are decreasing, he said.
Of course their two children didn't want to take after his shop, so his skill will not last after him. Then he said, ` No worries. I've already taught another artisan in Kyoto our own style. `
