Moving on toward my own future 2016.06.29
I've decided to quit my papermaking job earlier this moth. It came up to my mind suddenly when I was making paper in the studio. And today was the last day all after more than fifteen years in papermaking since 2000. Sooner or later this website will be closed down in part which is related to me personally.
In 2010 I started this website feeling the need to promote Echizen Washi in the world. My time in Paris and Frankfurt pushed me forward when I was visiting shops with a big roll of washi sheets in my arm. This website could be helpful to let people in the world have certain brand image of our paper, I thought.
And I met my friends through this website. It's a pity that I couldn't openly say that I do make paper just because of me feeling negative that I don't have my own studio. Besides I worked as a part timer since 2003 just because I wanted to have my own time to promote our paper. Many people didn't understand what I was trying to do without any payment to organize this site but rather investing my own money to make a speech about Echizen Washi in abroad.
I think I have done enough for Echizen Washi. Now is the time to be independent, no connections, no groups to belong to, to start my own. I'm free now.
Thank you for your support. Hopefully by the end of July you will find my new blog which is only about my life with art. And I'll try to find a way to make paper at my own place. Thanks again.
