Echizen Washi

 Twenty four junior high school students from Yokohama are visiting this village. On their first day today I was asked to make a speech for them. Well, for their age it wouldn't be interesting only to listen to someone's talk all the time, so I was planning to show them how I paint on handmade paper. I had only one hour. Talking and painting or carving at the same time, I had a very nice time with them. 

Hope they will have a great time during their four-day staying. 

This work is my woodblock version on Ichibei Iwano's paper. It took 20 minutes to finish this in front of them. Time flies ! But so much fun.
