Echizen Washi

Just recently I started using his paper. So finally I stopped hesitating to ask him for my visit his studio to take some photos for him. 

Mr. Takeuchi is 88 years old and his wife is 85. His paper is also very unique. Using just the same material, kozo made in Nasu 100%, his paper is very different from Mr. Ichibei Iwano, Living National Treasure 80 years old. He makes paper mainly for ink art paintings, but I think it's also good for color paintings.

Unfortunately the paper is quite expensive comparing to the other similar look papers; about 800yen per sheet at the shop here. 

I like to see how they wrap their paper. I can tell they have been working with paper for long long years by seeing the way they treat paper.
