Echizen Washi

On November 10th there was a culture festival in the village. I had been asked to exhibit my paper work at the hall before going to NY. The organizer said no one showed their paper art in the village even though it is famous for its handmade paper.

I made the blue one last year using only Kozo fiber thinking about the devastating Tsunami disaster in 2011,  and `peach paper`s this year named ` Light of Hope `, using Gampi. The latter had been to US back and forth already twice this fall !  

I couldn't go to visit the festival, and had no idea how they would decorate mine for me. This picture I received recently made me very happy. How they showed my work was very new to me.
