Keitai Emperor - the 26th Japanese Emperor in the 6th century2013.08.07
The other day I made a tour in the village for visitors from Tokyo. They were from a publisher and felt really impressed with my stories about Echizen Washi. One of them recently sent me two books about ` Keitai Emperor ` that I had told them about during their visit.
Keitai Emperor was chosen to be the 26th emperor* while he was governing this area in the 6th century . One of the studies about him attracts me a lot that he had been very successful to have a power because of the industries in paper, lacquerware, pottery, iron, silk which were introduced from Korea and China.
Nowadays our area is said to be a very contryside, or, ` back ` of Japan whereas they say Tokyo is front. It sounds like discriminating our area. I don't like any discriminations and I don't feel comfortable hearing those even though it's not about me. Anyway, in the old times, our area had lots of tradings with China and Korea being located in a good place facing with those two countries. Then ` Keitai Emperor ` was having his power in business very much, then he became known as a great one enough to be the next emperor ( He's said to have been in relatives with the previous one ).
I'm still studying about him. So I feel very grateful for the two books, so I sent a ` Thank you Letter ` to her drawing ` Keitai ` with ink.
( * Our emperor now is the 125th. )
