The artisans in Echizen call this ` Western Envelope ` because of this shape. I didn't really know how they tell this from Japanese one, but it seems that ours is more like straight to write up and down ( I doubt this is clear enough. A kind of quize for you ! ).
But this is a special envelope because you can see the brush work which can be made when they dry paper with brush if you come close to see it. Can you see ? So you can tell it is handmade.
