Mr. Ichibei Iwano 12012.04.23
The other day I found a paper from my jean's pocket. It was just washed but the paper was still very neat. ,...
I remembered it was from Mr.Ichibei's when I visited him with a guest several days ago.
He is a living national treasure in papermaking, which always surprise my foreign guests because they seem not to have the same system. `Living` treasure....
Japanese goverment registered him as a living national treasure in 2000 in summer when I was about to start working for Echizen Washi. He's the ninth generation of the Iwano and his father, the eighth was also the treasure.
He was checking Kozo before cooked with his son whereas his wife was making paper.
