Echizen Washi

This is my calligraphy about the days during Kami Festival.

It says,

" Today is Kami Festival which is held in Echizen Washi Village once a year.

Only for this chance, all the three gods, the paper goddess and two local gods, come down from the top of `Omine` and stay for three days in this village with us.  

And the old ladies who make paper and used to make paper in Echizen are supposed to have their hair cut by the time the festival starts ( they always say that they have to be well-dressed before the gods coming down. Please check their hair ! ).

Today I sell paper feeling grateful for my life with paper and papermaking life.

Please go to Okamoto Otaki Shrine especially on the 5th evening. You will see our Echizen Washi's background. This is it and just makes you feel impressed.
