Echizen Washi

They come to visit me every month to collect money for newspapers , so I talk with them very often.

The husband now works for one of the paper studios here in the village to prepare ` neri ` for papermaking. 

The wife used to work for a paper studio also in the village when she was very young. When she was graduating her school, the owner visited her for recruiting ( I hope it's the correct word ! ) . He was her relatives and needed someone to work and help his studio. Later he closed the studio, so she started working for another company for textile.

Their stories are always precious for me to listen to.
