I'm not a big fan of eels, but I often hear about eating eels in summer time. For me if I had, it would be only in summer.  

Eels in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, are famous, but it's quite expensive this year. A few years ago, some studies went well in Japan and they said they finally found an egg of eel in the sea. It was quite a big news then. 

How eel grows up is just opposite from how salmon grows. Eels have their birth in the sea, but salmon in the river. That's what I heard....

Anyway, after they found the eggs, it seems very difficult to raise them in the end.
