Snow in the Mountain ( 1900M ) ( 1 )2013.06.10

I went on a trekking last Saturday. It takes about one hour to get to the starting point. I was going to get to the top which has about 2,300 M high.  I love this mountain a lot these years because the scenery keeps dramatically changing as you go up high. This year we didn't have so much snow, but it was cold for a long time. Maybe that is why there were so much snow left on the way ( it's about 1900M in the photo ).

Sometimes foreigners don't really imagine how wild and dangerouns the Japanese mountains can be. I've been to some mountains in China several times and four times in Europe. Most of them are well organized, but ours are just left as they are.... and very steep ! But of course because some people go, you can see the trail some how. But they say you have to bring a map and a compass if possible.

I didn't bring crampons and saw some well-skilled people coming down even though they had crampons and an ice ax, so I just went until I got to a shelter hut.

I always wish I could find a good company who can enjoy this climbing together. If I go with female friends, I could be too fast, but if I go with male friends, I can be slow....  Hopefully someday ;-p
