I love mountains a lot. My first experience in hiking or climbing mountains which had a certain hight was in China as far as I remember. The purpose was to know well about mountains to draw or paint for my art. But I was more fascinated by the mountains themselves.

In China I went to Huang-shan, or yellow mountain, Hua-shan, E'mei-shan, Tai-shan and then to Annapurna trekking in Nepal. After those experience, I went back to Japan in 2000 and started the mountains in Japan.  I was amazed to see how clean and beautiful the Japanese mountains were....

Last weekend, I brought my own tent  ( photo 1 . mine is green one ) and stayed over night up in the mountain. Its name is Haku-san, or white mountain, which is known as one of the three sacred mountains in Japan next to Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tateyama. You can go to the starting point by car and it takes about one and half hours from here.

At night I didn't feel cold, thanks to my warm sleeping bag, though you can see my tent covered with frost in the morning.
