Echizen Washi

I don't know what you call this in English. But every year around in September we go to the mountains to harvest those. I didn't know about the vegetable before until I came here. The recent years I cannot miss this season without tasting the vegetable. It has strong flavor and it should be good for your health too.

I was not clean enough but I had to run to my Chinese students' to teach Japanese. As soon as I got there I was asked by my students what I thought about the territorial disputes between the two countries.

The big difference between Japan and China is that the Japanese people always try to understand why the others think in a different way and to know the background first, which sometimes seems to be too much to me. But China is not the same. I sometimes wish the Japanese could behave just as the Chinese people do, but the Japanese people always think it's very important to be considerate for others first of all to be polite.

When I was in China the people used to tell me that they should be the big brother of the Japanese people in the history, and I think that also causes some issues between us. Actually we are very different......
