A Visitor by Bike2011.08.08
This year I've been meeting the younger generations here in the Washi Village who are looking for jobs or trying to have a different job. Thorugh talking with them I always remember when I was at a loss in my early twenties without knowing what to do or what my future would be like. So every time I meet the younger people I want to be of help for them some how.
One of them I met in June was from Kyoto by bike. She said she was going to go bike-touring whole Japan for about a year. One day a mail box arrived including a book about Rembrandt. It was from her. She's now in Akita, Northern Japan. It was a big surprise that she remembered my studies about Rembrandt with Japanese paper, Washi.... She says she'll come back to Washi Village after her travel.
I realized that the young are now growing up to join our business field, who could be a big support for our Washi future. Some people are afraid of getting old, but me, no, looking forward to working together with the new generations.
