Mt. Hakusan, or White Mountain in Japanese, is one of the three spiritual mountains in Japan including Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tateyama. It is famous for its beautiful flowers, too. From here in Echizen Washi Village, you can get to the starting point in two hours by car, quite close. I used to go climbing every weekend to see how thouse flowers were growing.

There're several ways you can take to get to the top. If you go my favorite one, it may take you for 10 - 12 hours...., but I'm sure you'd enjoy its variety of nature.  I didn't like flowers before for its what I would say `artificial beauty`, but after I knew the flowers in Hakusan, I changed my mind.
