He is Namu-chan ( you add `chan` when you call your friends' name in Japanese. My friends call me Rina-chan. ) and he is 9 years old.
He lives with a monk and his wife at a temple, called Hotoku-ji temple in Otaki. In one Buddhism sect you pray "namu-ami-dabutsu ", so he is called Namu-chan!
